Yosibeth and Rahul's
Love Story

He came from India. She's Dominican American. And they found each other in her hometown in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, at the coffee shop they both frequented. Their very first conversation was about marriage and its social purpose. They've never been ones for small talk. They bonded over Thinking, Fast and Slow, and from there, it was obvious: two very different people who somehow fit.

Since then, they've been inseparable. They shared tasting menus and concert nights, traveled together, and spent countless hours talking through every idea either one of them has ever had. Above all, they're best friends, and they can't wait to celebrate this next chapter with you.

The Details

Their song is Gimme All Your Love by Alabama Shakes. They've traveled together to many places, but San Francisco and Mexico City hold a special place in their hearts. They love concerts and have seen several artists together. Their first date was in Philadelphia, PA and they met in Media, PA. An inside joke between them is Rudolph blindly.

Rahul proposed to Yosi at Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California.

The Wedding

We are getting married in Rahul's hometown, Bidar located in the state of Karnataka in India.

About

Bidar

A historic city in northern Karnataka, India. With its ancient fort, beautiful domed tombs, and centuries-old Bidriware craft, it's a place rich in history and meaning. Celebrating our wedding here, surrounded by the people and places that shaped Rahul, feels like the perfect beginning.

Q & A

What's the Wedding Schedule and What Should We Wear?

The reception is scheduled for June twenty-seventh. Other ceremonies, part of the Indian culture, will likely take place the day before or two days before. These events will be more intimate, but we'll ensure everything runs smoothly. More details will be finalized at a later date. For the wedding day, you'll wear Indian attire. Don't worry, we'll help you navigate everything. Once you arrive in the country, clothes are available for purchase or rental, and we'll guide you through the entire process.

Can We Extend Our Trip and Explore Other Parts of India?

Yes, many guests are planning to explore other parts of India before or after the wedding. We're arranging some group tours and would love to have you join us. If you prefer solo travel, we're happy to offer recommendations and help you plan on your own. We'll work together to decide the best places to visit based on everyone's interests. Indian civilization is widely regarded as one of the world's oldest, with roots dating back 8,000 to 9,500 years! There's plenty to see, and once you're in the country, it is pretty affordable.

When should we RSVP?

Please RSVP as soon as you can. Since our guest list is small, we'd love to explore buying flights together so we can spend as much time as possible with everyone. Early RSVPs will help us coordinate group travel and optimize for time together.

How Many Events Should We Expect?

This is a South Indian wedding, so the several-day celebrations common in North Indian traditions are not typical here. We anticipate a haldi and a mehndi ceremony in addition to the main reception. These events are intimate and meaningful, and we'll share more details as we finalize the schedule.

Do We Need a Passport and Visa?

You'll need a valid passport for India. US citizens can apply for an e-visa online at around forty dollars. Once you RSVP, we'll send detailed information about the application process to make it as simple as possible.

How will Transportation and Accommodations Work?

You'll be flying into Hyderabad. From there, we'll arrange transportation from the airport to the wedding location, which is about two hours away. Once you arrive, we'll cover all your housing and help navigate food situations. It's truly our priority that you feel welcomed and taken care of as our guest.

What's the Weather Like?

In June, Bidar will be warm, and we'll be approaching monsoon season. Based on historical records, the weather should be manageable, but we advise packing items to prepare for possible rain.

How Many Days Should We Plan For?

We recommend allocating at least ten days for this trip. Expect approximately 18 hours of travel each way, and the extra days will help you adjust to jet lag and get situated before the festivities begin. The city of Hyderabad is a vibrant city with many great restaurants, a rich history, and plenty of shopping opportunities. You can definitely make the most of it by staying there a few days leading up to the wedding.

We want everyone important to us to be there. If you have any concerns about making the trip work, please contact us directly. We're here to help however we can.
